About
Marla Hardee Milling
Associate Editor
My background includes ten years as a news producer for WLOS-TV (ABC
affiliate), and two and a half years experience as director
of public information at Mars Hill College. In March 1988,
I sold my first freelance article, and since then, I've had
more than 100 articles published in a variety of online and
print publications. My articles have appeared in Smart Computing's
PC Novice Guides and Learning Series, Healthgate.com, Babycenter.com,
Armchair Millionaire, Debt Counselors of America, Web Guide,
Blue Ridge Country, KidsHealth.org, KBKids.com, Pregnancy
Magazine, ePregnancy.com, Myria.com and others.
I
met Nancy and Betsy after stumbling upon Myria.com a couple
of years ago. Since then, I've maintained a relationship
with them that has included writing
a journal for ePregnancy.com, and tech articles for
Myria.com. Currently, I write the Techie
Mama column for Myria. I have also been fortunate to
contribute to Pregnancy magazine, which they co-edit.
Recently, I shared my dream of becoming a full-time freelancer
with Betsy and Nancy. My goal is to do something I love,
while having more time to spend with my children, three-year-old
Benjamin, and nine-month-old Hannah, and my husband, Tim.
Nancy and Betsy have offered me the opportunity to begin
taking steps toward that goal. It's exciting to be an associate
editor for sites that I enjoy reading! Contact me at marla@myria.com

About Robin Galguera
Contributing Editor
I'm a poet, freelance writer, and mom to Mateo, who is three.
I earned both MA and MFA degrees in English and have been
publishing poetry in literary journals for over 10 years.
This past January, I made the leap into freelance writing
and have published personal essays on Oxygen, hipMama, and
Myria. I've also been writing a monthly
book review column for Myria since May.
My primary goal in writing reviews is to find gems that
have been ignored by the mainstream reviewers--novels and
short stories that deserve a wider reading audience. The
best thing about writing for Myria is that when my husband
or son ask me to stop reading, I say, with pride, "Hey!
I'm working!" Is this a great job, or what?
I live on a college campus in Northern California with my
husband, Tomás, who is a professor; our sweet boy, Mateo;
and with Scout the Dog. In all of my free time, I dream
about racing motorcycles and moving to an old farmhouse
in Marin County. You can reach me at robin@myria.com.
About Vanessa Sands
Contributing Editor
Vanessa Sands, 38, of central New York State, is employed full time
in what she believes to be the most worthy career imaginable.
Her four bosses, ages one through ten, are benevolent and
forgiving, however, and indulge her frequent moonlighting
as freelance copywriter and editor. In addition to Myria
and related sites, Vanessa’s clients have included various
businesses, ad agencies, magazine/journal publishers, and
book authors.
She's editorial assistant for Pregnancy
magazine and, recently having forayed into website design,
she’s also webmaster for Accommodations.com.
She has a B.A. in English/Communications from Lemoyne College
in Syracuse, N.Y.; before choosing to stay home to be raised
by her children, she held positions as advertising copywriter
and technical editor. You can contact her at vanessa@myria.com.
